Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Realistic acrylic painting of Tamara de Lempicka, birth name Tamara Gorska (Warsaw, 16 May 1898 - Cuernavaca, 18 March 1980), a Polish art deco painter, painted by the Dutch fine artist Paul Meijering. The original painting is 120 x 90 cm.
De Lempicka was born into a wealthy and prominent Polish family. Her father was a lawyer, her mother a well-known society lady. In 1916, she married the lawyer Tadeusz Lempicki and went to live in St Petersburg. After the October Revolution (1917), they both fled to Copenhagen, where they had a daughter, Kizette, in 1920. Since her husband could not find work, Tamara started painting for a living from then on. Within a short time, she subsequently became one of the most sought-after painters of her time. Her paintings com...
For almost 33 years now, Paul Meijering has been active with the paint brushes. As a 17- year old inspired youngster he joined the Academy of Arts in Enschede (Holland) in order to receive a native training in drawing- and painting technique. At that time (1980) the tendency of the abstract was running riot, and to his dismay and disappointment Paul found that the trade of the ancient masters was merely 'old hat', the realistic art being disregarded and looked down upon. After two years of useless botchery, there was only one conclusion to draw: "get autodidact, be a self-taught person!" Paul then left the academy to work for a living, but at the back of his mind there always loomed the passion of his life: to paint. At his spare time...
